Our website is gradually being updated and moving from a test site to the more final form. As part of this process the themes used for the screen layout have been adapted to be in line with the philosophy of Perspektivo.NL. For this theme we basically modified the C7 Doopal theme for Mambo / Joomla. Modifications are not yet complete. In particular the font colours and sizes will probably be further modified.
The Logo
The logo with it’s triangular shape of course symbolises perspektive, the view of depth. At the same time the smaller green triangle turns the shape into a very simple eye: the vision, a different perspektive. And then the blue perspektivo lettering along the top symbolises the sky is the limit of what we may accomplish, while the green lettering along the bottom tells us to still keep our feet on the ground. To further strengthen the link between the logo and the content of the site we use the little green triangular iris throughout the site as the little bullet or pointer to e.g. menu items.
The background
The current background is not yet final. The temporary background is the direction we want to move towards: The sun shining through the clouds, giving each cloud its own silver lining. The symbolism fits with that of the logo: after rain comes sunshine, there is always a ray of hope even on the darkest days.
Next steps
Currently the site only offers the opportunity to donate using a Paypal Donate button. We are working hard to get email from the site up and running. Once that is stable we will activate the virtual shopping cart allowing either PayPal payments or email orders with invoice billing. Reason to choose for these two options is the simplicity of both. In particular we think the PayPal option provides the widest opportunity for all users to order pictures from the site. Even without a credit card people can open a PayPal account as a debit account. Hopefully this next step forward will occur by the end of this week or early next week.
